Extra Income Ideas: Quick Cash
Mow Residential Lawns Like When You
Were a Kid - The idea is to find just four residential lawns to mow on Saturdays. If the local commercial
lawn services are charging $30 to $40 per mowing session then offer $25 to $30. In exchange for this discounted
price ask for a month’s worth of payment up front. That would bring in an extra $400 per month quick cash.
Remember to edge, trim and clean up the grass clippings to insure happy customers.

Power Wash Homes And
Decks – Decks fade and often turn gray in the sun. Power washing with a blast of water under high
pressure can do an amazing job of restoring the original fresh look. This is a relatively easy business to get
into. A decent non-professional power washer costs about a hundred dollars and can often fit in the trunk of a
car. The only other cost could be a little money to make and distribute flyers and to make a small website.
College kids sometimes do this in the summer charging less than the pros and still make $200 or more a
day.
Care Must be taken to not damage the deck . Some agreement with the home
owner that you are not responsible for damage to rotten wood on a deck would be
wise.
You may find that as you power wash one house or deck you may be asked to
water treat or even stain the deck with a color.
Hold a Car
Wash – Locate an empty lot on a hot Saturday morning and hand wash cars for a reasonable fee.
Churches, clubs and schools do it all the time – why shouldn’t you? Make a sign that says something like
“Washing Cars for Rent Money”. 20 cars for $5 each returns a fast 100 dollar
bill.
Sell Your Blood
Plasma – In western Michigan the going rate is about $30 to $40 each visit to the local Blood and
Plasma Bank. You are allowed to donate approximately twice per week depending on your health. Before the economy
hit the bricks less people were donating plasma for money and the pay was about 20% higher.
Open a New Checking or Saving
Account – Banks often offer incentives of $75 to $100 to new customers that open new accounts. Be sure
to explore the fine print to look for large opening balance or daily balance requirements. Sometime the
incentive is only good if your employer is willing to make direct deposits for your pay checks. The requirement
are often pretty reasonable and worth considering.
Assemble Stuff for
Pay – If you have ever put a bike, swing set or backyard grill together you know how frustrating and
time consuming the process can be. Offer to do this task for some quick cash. This could be a highly valued
service for seniors with arthritis or for people with more money than time. It seems like a quick $50 for many
projects might be reasonable. A word to the wise – when you finish an assembly project and inevitably discover
that you have a few parts left over, keep that news to yourself.
